Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano delivered another classic fight on Friday in front of 70,000+ fans at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The fight was the chief support for the Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul heavyweight bout on Netflix that generated the largest non-Las Vegas gate for a boxing or MMA event with $18.1 million.
Taylor (24-1, 6 KOs), the undisputed junior welterweight champion, retained the belts with scorecards of 95-94 on all three judges' scorecards. Taylor and Serrano threw a combined 1,263 punches throughout the 10 rounds. Serrano landed 125 of 216 punches in the last two rounds alone, and her 324 punches landed for the fight were the most by a woman in CompuBox history.
Serrano (47-3-1, 31 KOs) suffered a bad cut over her right eye in the sixth round due to an unintentional clash of heads. Taylor was deducted a point in Round 8 for leading on with her head but won the ninth and 10th rounds in two of the three scorecards to seal the victory.
Taylor retains the No. 1 spot at junior welterweight while Serrano moves up one spot to No. 2, even in defeat. Taylor is also the unified lightweight champion, as she keeps her No. 1 spot at 135 pounds. Serrano, the unified featherweight champion, stays at No. 1 at 126 pounds.
This was a rematch of Taylor's split-decision victory over Serrano in April 2022 to retain her then-undisputed lightweight championship.
Also on the card, Shadasia Green defeated Melinda Watpool by split decision to win the vacant WBO super middleweight title.
Green (15-1, 11 KOs) won by scorecards of 97-93, 96-94 and 94-96. It was her second consecutive victories since losing a unanimous decision to Franchon Crews Dezurn in December challenging for the WBC belt.
Green moves up one spot to No. 2 with the victory.

As with almost everything, until fighters square off against one another, there is a layer of subjectivity to it. Fighters who haven't fought in 18 months and don't have a fight scheduled will be removed from the rankings until they fight again.
